MARYSVILLE, Calif. September 29 2019— Four days after committing a murder, a wanted suspect was arrested when security staff at Feather Falls Casino in Oroville were able to identify him through surveillance footage and law enforcement.
Officers from the Marysville Police Department (MPD) responded to a report of a disturbance on September 22, at 3:28 a.m. near the 1000 block of F Street.
When officers arrived, they say they found a 37-year-old female with a gunshot wound, and say she later died due to her injuries.
Investigators say they were able to identify the suspect as Jesse Jaramillo, 29 of Live Oak.
According to investigators, Jaramillo fled the scene after shooting the female. Detectives then began working several leads to located him.
On Thursday, September 26, at 2:00 a.m., MPD detectives received a call from security at Feather Falls Casino in Oroville saying they believed Jaramillo was in front of the casino. They then sent a picture from their surveillance, which investigators say was a match.
Butte County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived and took Jaramillo into custody without incident. MPD detectives responded to Butte County and took custody of Jaramillo, where he was later booked at Yuba County Jail for murder.
